What is Compounding?

Compounding medications have been a longstanding practice, and while techniques have advanced with technological progress, the essence of compounding remains unchanged—tailoring medications to meet the unique needs of individual patients. In essence, compounding involves creating "medications made specifically for the patient."

While commercially manufactured drugs are widely available, certain health conditions are better managed with compounded medications. A doctor can prescribe specific dosage strengths, active ingredients, dosage forms, and even flavorings to make the medications more palatable.
